If you know me at all you know that I am a huge germaphobe. Many of my post discuss my obsessive fear with my kids getting the stomach flu. I take active measures every day to make sure that we are not exposed to germs. My kids have a routine when they get home from anywhere, they take off their shoes and wash their hands. They changed their clothes and take a bath or shower if they were somewhere like school. I also use baby wipes anytime we get out of a store or someplace that we may have touched something. I also have taught my children to use their sleeves or elbows to open doors and push buttons. So germs everywhere is a constant thought of my mind...
With this whole virus that is going around, I find myself surprisingly calm. For me, hand sanitizer and Clorox wipes are part of a daily routine. And I will say that they work, all year long to keep my kids healthy and the rest of my family as well. Now that the majority of our Nation and world are freaking out about germs, I see it as a cleaner world , more than ever! Yes there may be a virus going around, but people are more vigilant to keep themselves clean and healthy. The flu is something we deal with every year...When I took my daughter to dance a few weeks ago, I saw them clean the door handles and light switches three times in an hour and a half. I wish they would do that all the time!
I was so disappointed when they closed restaurants, finally I was going to feel like there was a cleaner environment to be in! Many people keep checking with me, assuming that I am freaking out with this situation. I am happy to report that I am remaining calm! Thank you to those who care about me!
More than anything, I would say I am annoyed and discouraged by the lack of patience that everyone is feeling. I am so disappointed that I am seeing so many things postponed and canceled that are a month or two away. I wish we could all just see what the next week or two brings before we start canceling things in the upcoming months. I am heartbroken for my daughter who has been has been taking dance class since September and they have already cancelled her recitals that are late May. 😭😭😭 I have not had the heart to tell her yet, and hopes that things will get much better and they may continue!!
My plea would be that we all just see what happens in the next 2 weeks during our mandatory self distancing and see how it goes. My heart breaks for all the people who have been impacted, in all ways. My poor grandmother at 95 is stuck alone in her room at a Assisted Living facility, I realize it's for her safey, but how lonely must she be. Can we please use our energy praying and feeling hopeful- maybe we can kick this thing...
If you know me I am not usually an outspoken person who shares my optinions much, but wanted to share my heart..
