Ms. Colorado, The How & Why

I have so many people ask me how and why I became involved with Pageantry. It is typically looked at as a vain and selfish sport. Often times, it is misunderstood.

I have completed in a few different pageant systems from the time I was 19. The first few times, I did not place at all. I was not dedicated. I didn't really understand the why. In fact, I really struggled during pageant weekend. I felt like I was the only one there who didn't want to win more then anything in the world. I remember my roommate qoke up at 4am to start hair extensions, something I had never even heard of. I learned that yes, some pageant girls, have fake hair, nails, eyelashes and even teeth (What?!?!) which was all new to me and I probably was a little judgey of them. But what I learned was that the most successful Pageant Winners, were extremely involved in thier community, just trying to make the world a better place.



When I decided to compete a couple years ago, I needed a reason to better myself. I had fallen into a slump, as most moms do. My life completely revoled around my kids, which it should. However, I lost track of anything that made me who I am. So I started a path of rediscovery.



I received the role of Mrs Aurora. And was thankful for the journey that gave me. Again, I did not place on a state level, but was proud of my city title. I met some amazing woman who I have kept in contact with.



Last summer, I looked into different pageant systems, seeking a way to get to get further involved in my community. I felt like Jesus was encouraging me to Shine his light. By the Grace of God I was awarded Ms Colorado World America 2023. OMG, WHAT?!?! 😍 At 36 years old dreams do come true.

So this is the beginning of the Journey. Since I received the Ms Colorado World title, I have been awarded Ms Colorado Icon through SU Modeling Pageant. So what do I do now?



You will see me standing strong for children's mental health, volunteering and visiting with Veterans, collecting items for the homeless and hopefully with many opportunities to help others shine in our community. So I ask you. How can I help? Where can I be involved? Let's work together.
